Bees & Wasps:
Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants, known for their role in pollinating flowers and crops. Bumble bees and wasps nest in numbers 15 to 100, and may be found in abandoned animal holes, under sheds and foundations, or in other places close to the ground. Both are very protective of their home and can attack if aggravated by certain smells, loud noises and vibrations. Because of their aggressive nature, bees and wasps can be very difficult to remove safely. Their stings can cause serious allergic reactions and anaphylaxis to people who are allergic. Half of all people who die of anaphylaxis are unaware they have a bee allergy. Common in SWFL: Africanized Honey and Bumble Bees, Yellow Jacket, Spider and Weevil Wasps.
